Amy Lynn Lee

Amy Hartzler (born Amy Lynn Lee and best known as Amy Lee, December 13, 1981 in Riverside, California) is an American singer-songwriter and classically-trained pianist. She is a founding member and lead singer of the Grammy Award winning rock band Evanescence. Her influences range from classical musicians such as Mozart to modern artists like Bjork, Tori Amos, Danny Elfman, and Plumb.

Lee was born to parents John Lee, a disc jockey and TV personality, and Sara Cargill. Her family moved to many places, but finally settled in Little Rock, Arkansas, where Evanescence started. She graduated from Pulaski Academy in 2000.

She co-founded the band with Ben Moody. The two met at a youth camp after he heard Lee playing Meat Loaf's "I'd Do Anything for Love (but I Won't Do That)" on the piano. Within a month, the pair were playing acoustic sets at Arkansas book stores and coffee houses, and they eventually recorded two EPs, Evanescence EP (1998) and Sound Asleep EP (1999).

Ben Robert Moody (born January 22, 1981 in Little Rock, Arkansas, U.S.) is a singer-songwriter and instrumentalist, and is best known as the lead guitarist and co-founder of the multi-platinum Grammy Award winning rock band Evanescence from 1998 to October 2003. Since leaving Evanescence, Moody has collaborated with an array of performers, both vocally and as a writer.

Moody met Amy Lee in 1994 while at a youth camp, and soon began playing at local shops. Within a few years, the pair began selling EPs at local shows, culminating in their discovery by Wind-up Records and the release of their major label debut album, Fallen, in 2003. Moody abruptly left the band in October 2003 during their European tour, citing "creative differences".

Beginning in 2004, Moody began collaborating with a variety of artists, working in multiple disciplines.

Pulaski Academy (PA) is a private not-for-profit day care, preschool, elementary, and junior/senior high school in the Pleasant Valley neighborhood of Little Rock, Arkansas. PA was established in 1971 and remains as the only independent, non-sectarian, college preparatory school in Arkansas.

PA is accredited by ISACS (Independent Schools of the Central States), ANSAA (Arkansas Non-public School Accrediting Association) and NCA CASI (North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement) and CITA (Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation). PA is a member of the Cum Laude Society, National College Board and NAIS (National Association of Independent Schools).

Pulaski Academy was named 2003 “Best of the Best” Private High School by the readers of an Arkansas Democrat-Gazette contest.

The school's mascot is the Bruin and school colors are navy blue and gold. Average enrollment is approximately 1270 students, with a student/teacher ratio of 11 to 1.
